about me
Hey there! My name is AJ Kourabi.
currently :
I am a final-year Engineering Physics Student at McMaster University. I am mostly up to three things:
Research Assistant modeling Germanium implantation on Silicon substrates, aiming to implement more efficient silicon optoelectronics
Running a $10k microgrant program funding student side projects (and automating tons of emails in Airtable)
Working part-time with Schmidt Futures -- primarily on AI grant-making with a focus on alignment and interpretability, and another fun project (more soon!).

Independently research via a grant: You can read my piece on Differential Tech Development here. Feedback is welcomed!
I was an intern at Convergent Research, following research leads, working on internal tools, and creating writings for internal and public audiences. See some of my writings on neurotech here, and on FROs here.
Built a project around creating nurse logistics tooling in the Emergency Dept and won some pitch competitions with it.
Worked on Social Prescribing in the US through a study with the Cleveland Clinic. Our work was featured on Time.
Designed a curriculum to teach Python (and later did the teaching)
